Heartlanders sign point-per-game forward Matthew Boucher

Heartlanders sign point-per-game forward Matthew Boucher

Coralville, Iowa - The Iowa Heartlanders, proud ECHL affiliate of the Minnesota Wild and Iowa Wild, have signed forward Matthew Boucher to an ECHL contract. 

Boucher, 24, has put up career ECHL totals of 38 goals and 75 points (80 GP, +12 rating) in his first two ECHL seasons with the Utah Grizzlies. He won 2020-21 ECHL Rookie of the Year, scoring 25 goals and 52 points in 59 games. Last season, Boucher scored 13 goals (23 pts.) in 21 games and also played five games with AHL Colorado. In 2018-19 Boucher won the USports University Cup with the University of New Brunswick. He played on that team alongside former Heartlanders Captain and last season's ECHL Rookie of the Year Kris Bennett. "This is an impact signing and we're thrilled Matthew has picked the Heartlanders to continue his ECHL career. He's proved in his time in the ECHL he is an elite playmaker and scorer that makes his teammates better.
