Coralville, Iowa – The Iowa Heartlanders, proud ECHL affiliate of the Minnesota Wild and Iowa Wild, kick off a home-heavy January with the first of three straight at Xtream Arena against the Indy Fuel.The Heartlanders have four straight games overall upcoming against Indy; three at home and one a week from today at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum. This is the first time this season the Fuel and Landers have met at Xtream Arena since last April.In Iowa’s most-recent game at Kansas City, Corbin Kaczperski made 37 saves, including 19 in the second period, but Iowa dropped, 2-1, on New Year’s Eve. Alec Broetzman scored his seventh of the season in the third period to tie the game. Kansas City’s Jeremy McKenna tallied the game-winning goal in the final eight minutes, the third straight time he’s tallied the game winner when he’s been active vs. Iowa.Indy has won the first two games of the season series, each by a 5-2 score. The clubs play 11 times this campaign. Jan Mandat is best on Indy with three goals, all of which came in the first series matchup Nov. 4. Home life is nice this January This week marks the third three-game home stand of the team's season. Iowa is 6-3-0-1 this season at home and has at least a point in seven of their last eight home games. Iowa was on the road for nine of 12 games last month and the team was out of state on the road for 16 of December's 31 days.By contrast, this month, Iowa is home nine times and has just one three-game road trip.
