Coralville, Iowa – The Iowa Heartlanders, proud ECHL affiliate of the Minnesota Wild and Iowa Wild, start a three-city, three-game road trip at the Toledo Walleye Friday at 6:15 p.m.The Heartlanders have points in three of their last four games, with the team’s lone regulation loss in Iowa’s last game, 4-2, Saturday vs. Wichita. Tommy Parrottino and Carson Denomie scored Iowa’s goals.Toledo has enjoyed the week off to prepare for a home three-in-three; the Fish host Iowa, Indy and South Carolina this weekend. The Walleye lost their last game in the shootout, 5-4, but have at least a point in 22 of their last 23 games (20-1-0-2). The team’s lone regulation loss over the last two months came Mar. 24 vs. Reading.Friday’s game starts a stretch five straight road contests over the next two weeks. Carson Denomie tallied four minutes later to give Iowa their first multi-goal edge.The Heartlanders allowed three goals in the second. Mitch Benson took the loss with 20 saves.Zach White at 8 Zach White picked up a primary assist in Iowa’s last game Saturday vs. Wichita, extending his points streak to eight games (5g, 9 pts.), the longest by any Heartlanders player this season.The 27-year-old has assists in back-to-back games and has tallied at least a point in 19 of his last 24 games.Since Feb. 4, White leads Iowa with 12 goals and 25 points. The last two months have helped him elevate to second on the team in goals (18) and points (33).Similar to last season, White has been featured as the top-line center in the second half. This season, he’s found chemistry with Yuki Miura and Tommy Parrottino. Last season, he formed one of the league’s most-dangerous lines centering Ryan Kuffner and Kris Bennett (ECHL Rookie of the Year).Scouting ToledoThe Walleye won 18 straight games from Feb. 4 – Mar. 18, the second longest winning streak in ECHL history (23 games, 2016-17 South Carolina Stingrays). The streak held until last Friday against Reading, and the Walleye have points in back-to-back games since the regulation defeat Mar. 24. Over the streak, Toledo outscored opponents, 76-18, an amazing 4.2 goals for/game vs. 1.0 goals allowed/contest.Goaltenders John Lethemon and Sebastian Cossa combined to shut out opponents five times in the 18 games. The Walleye allowed one or zero goals in a game 14 times over the streak. The wins catapulted the Fish above Indy in the standings; at the start of the streak, Toledo trailed the Fuel by seven points in the division.
