Iowa and Indy meet for 10th time this season
Coralville, Iowa – The Iowa Heartlanders, proud ECHL affiliate of the Minnesota Wild and Iowa Wild, face the Indy Fuel for the sixth time at Xtream Arena this season Friday at 7:05 p.m. Iowa has played Indy nine times this season and Friday is the penultimate matchup of the 11-game season series.The Heartlanders are coming off a loss Wednesday at home vs. Cincinnati. The team has points in two of its last four home games.Indy has won three straight, the club’s longest winning streak since mid January. The Fuel have had five winning streaks of three games or longer this season. In their last game Saturday at Cincinnati, Max Golod scored the overtime-winning goal to cap a 3-2 victory. Alex Wideman, a forward, has been one of the team's top scorers with 54 points in 53 games. He has also been effective on the power play, scoring 4 goals and 11 assists with the man advantage. Cameron Hillis, another forward, has also been a strong contributor with 52 points in 48 games split between Indy and Trois-Rivieres.Chad Yetman has scored 23 goals and 24 assists in 45 games. 2023 All-Star Selection Seamus Malone has also been a top performer, tallying 18 goals and 24 assists in 44 games.Indy’s offense ranks in the league’s top ten, averaging 3.6 goals per game.
