Friday Attendance A Sign Of Great Things Ahead

We’d like to thank our fans for the tremendous support in the first home weekend of our season! We saw great support at the game on Friday, Oct. 20 with a crowd of just under 3,000. That’s an increase of 1,000 fans over our average attendance last season.

“It wasn’t ideal for us to move our game scheduled for Saturday to Thursday, and we saw that in the attendance number. However, I was very pleased with the attendance number on Friday night, particularly leading into an Iowa Football home weekend. I believe we’re a great entertainment option leading into Hawkeye fan’s home football weekends, as well as an option to continue enjoying live sports on Saturday night after the Hawkeyes compete. I hope what we saw last Friday was the start of a growing trend,” said Heartlanders President Matt Getz. “We have two Saturday games scheduled in November on home Football weekends and would love to have Hawkeye fans join us in Xtream Arena. And for the members of our community who don’t spend their Saturdays cheering on the Hawkeye football team, we’d love to have you support the Iowa Heartlanders as part of our growing fanbase.”

Here are some of our favorite photos from Week 1 to celebrate the return of Heartlanders Hockey! Make sure to get tickets for our next homestand, which runs from Nov. 8-18 at Xtream Arena and includes great promotions like Military Appreciation Night, pres. by GreenState Credit Union on Friday, Nov. 17 at 6:35 p.m.
