Coralville, Iowa – The Iowa Heartlanders announced Wednesday forward Gavin Hain has signed a professional tryout (PTO) with the Iowa Wild. The rookie participated in Heartlanders and Iowa Wild training camp, as well as the Tom Kurvers Prospects Showcase.
Hain, 23, was selected in the sixth round of the 2018 NHL Entry Draft by Philadelphia. He spent five seasons playing for the University of North Dakota (2018-23) and scored an NCAA-personal-best 11 goals and 18 points last season. The left-handed shot was an alternate captain for two seasons with the Fighting Hawks. Hain is a native of Grand Rapids, MN.
The Heartlanders open the 2023-24 regular season Thursday, Oct. 19 at 6:35 p.m. vs. Rapid City. Friday’s game is also against the Rush and features a Paul Park Magnet Schedule giveaway to the first 2,000 fans.
