Hunter Jones reassigned to Heartlanders

Coralville, Iowa – The Iowa Heartlanders, proud ECHL affiliate of the Minnesota Wild and Iowa Wild, announced goaltender Hunter Jones has been reassigned to the Heartlanders from the Iowa Wild by the Minnesota Wild.

Jones, 23, posted a .905 save percentage in 38 games with the Heartlanders last season (11 wins, 3.07 GAA). In the final three months of the season, Jones won ten games and posted a .914 save percentage. He is starting his fourth professional season and has played for the Heartlanders the last two campaigns. 

At the AHL level with Iowa, Jones is 11-15-3 with a 3.47 goals-against average and .887 save percentage. He allowed two goals in his only game played for AHL Iowa last season. 

This summer, the Minnesota Wild signed Jones to a one-year, two-way contract. 

The 6-foot-4, 194-lb., left-handed catcher skated for Peterborough (OHL) from 2017-20, winning 62 games (3.31 GAA, .901 save percentage). Minnesota selected Jones with the 59th overall pick (2nd round) at the 2019 NHL Entry Draft.
