Coralville, Iowa – The Iowa Heartlanders, proud ECHL affiliate of the Minnesota Wild and Iowa Wild, announced Thursday defenseman Landon Kosior has been loaned to the Heartlanders from the Iowa Wild. Kosior is starting his rookie season and signed an AHL contract with the Iowa Wild in June.
The move gives the Heartlanders another strong piece ahead of Iowa’s Thursday, Oct. 19 home opener at 6:35 p.m. vs. Rapid City. The team plays two games at home next week – Thursday, Oct. 19 and Friday, Oct. 20 – with both games at 6:35 p.m. Friday’s game features a magnet schedule giveaway courtesy of Paul Park Real Estate.
Kosior, 21, played four seasons in the WHL for Prince Albert and scored 135 points (44g) in 213 games. Last season, he was second on the Raiders with 63 points and led all players with 46 assists. He topped Prince Albert defensemen in points each of the last two seasons before turning pro.
The right-handed shot stands 6-foot, weighs 185 pounds and is a native of Regina, SK.
