Forward Budgell loaned to Heartlanders

 

Coralville, Iowa – The Iowa Heartlanders, proud ECHL affiliate of the Minnesota Wild and Iowa Wild, announced forward Brett Budgell has been returned on loan to the Heartlanders from the Iowa Wild.

 

Budgell has skated in nine games for AHL Iowa this season, registering nine penalty minutes. He also skated in the Heartlanders opening weekend of the 2023-24 season vs. Rapid City. 

 

Last season, the St. John’s, NL native generated 16 goals and 52 points for the Newfoundland Growlers in 72 games.

 

The 6-foot, 187-lb., left-handed shot skated in 270 games over five QMJHL seasons (107g, 241 pts., 199 PIM, +79 rating). 

 

He wore a letter his final three seasons of juniors  for the Charlottetown Islandes, including the “C” from 2020-22. 

 

The Heartlanders visit Wheeling Sat., Nov. 25 at 6:10 p.m., continuing the team’s ten-game road trip. Iowa is next at home Dec. 15-17 vs. Toledo.
