Coralville, Iowa – The Iowa Heartlanders, proud ECHL affiliate of the Minnesota Wild and Iowa Wild, seek their fifth straight win on Military Appreciation Night Friday at 6:35 p.m. The Heartlanders are 4-0-0-0 this homestand, rattling off three one-goal wins, to improve to 4-4-2-0 on the season. Utah sits at 4-4-0-0.
Friday’s game is presented by GreenState Credit Union and features specialty military appreciation jerseys, pres. by Black & Gold Chiropractic.
The teams opened the week Wednesday at Xtream Arena, a 3-2 Heartlanders win on Field Trip Day in front of more than 2,000 Iowa-City-area students. The Landers trailed twice, 1-0 and 2-1, but fought back with the last two goals of the game, including the game-winning tally from Liam Coughlin at 5:27 of the third. Peyton Jones blocked 20 shots for his fourth straight win. He’s allowed five goals and boasts a .955 save percentage in those four starts.

- The Heartlanders four-game winning streak is the second-longest streak in team history. In the team’s inaugural season, Iowa won seven in a row.
- Iowa has won three straight one-goal games. Nine of the ten Iowa games this season have been tied or had a one-goal margin in the third period.

Four games, all close
Iowa has won four straight games and all have been tight; three have been decided by exactly one goal and the other featured an Iowa empty-net strike with 90 seconds left to seal a 3-1 win over Kalamazoo.
Defensively, Iowa has limited both Utah and Kalamazoo from scoring more than one goal in any period during the four-game streak.
Davis Koch and Nick Campoli top Iowa with two goals each over the last four games. Koch leads all Landers with five points. Thirteen Iowa skaters have tallied at least a point during the winning streak.
Odeen assists again
Iowa forward Odeen Tufto registered an assist on Iowa’s last two goals, helping the team overcome a one-goal deficit late in the second and take the lead in the third. The third-year professional from Chaska, MN leads Iowa with nine points and all have been assists. This month, Tufto has registered at least a point in five of six games and leads the Landers with seven helpers.
Tufto is also tied for best on the squad with three multi-point performances.
In his ECHL career, Tufto has 37 assists and 47 points in 58 games. In 2021-22, the right-handed shot dished out 24 helpers and 31 points with Orlando.
