Coralville, Iowa – The Iowa Heartlanders announced Tuesday the team has acquired defenseman Louka Henault from the Orlando Solar Bears in exchange for forward Jesse Jacques.
A second-year professional from Montreal, QC, Henault has registered two helpers and four penalty minutes in ten games with Orlando this season. Last season, Henault skated in 41 games for Jacksonville, generating three goals, 13 points and a plus-10 rating.
Henault spent four seasons in the OHL with Windsor (2017-20, 2021-22). In his final campaign with the Spitfires, he topped league defensemen with 57 assists and ranked second among OHL blueliners with 65 points.
The 22-year-old stands 6-foot and weighs 179 pounds.
Jacques scored six goals and 14 points in 22 games with Iowa this season.
Iowa is next at home for six straight games starting Friday, Dec. 15 against Toledo at 6:35 p.m. On Sat., Dec. 16 at 6:05 p.m., Iowa hosts Toledo for Teddy Bear Toss Night, pres. by DASH Auctions. The Heartlanders will wear specialty holiday jerseys available for auction on the DASH Auctions app. Fans are encouraged to bring Teddy Bears to throw on the ice after Iowa’s first goal, which will be donated to local charitable organizations helping those in need this holiday season.
On Sun., Dec. 17 at 2:05 p.m., the Heartlanders take on Toledo for Elementary School Day, pres. by MidWestOne Bank. The day also features a postgame skate pres. by The Family Dental Center.
