Coralville, Iowa – The Iowa Heartlanders, proud ECHL affiliate of the Minnesota Wild and Iowa Wild, complete their first home three-in-three of the season against the Toledo Walleye on Elementary School Day, presented by MidWestOne Bank, Sunday at 2:05 p.m.

 

The Heartlanders and Walleye have played two games this weekend and Iowa is looking for their first win Sunday.

 

Toledo won the weekend opener, 4-3, Friday, despite two goals from Iowa in the final 21 minutes. Saturday, Maxim Cajkovic scored Iowa’s Teddy Bear Toss goal in a 7-3 defeat

 

The Walleye won their fifth straight road game Saturday.

 

Today’s Elementary School Day also features a postgame skate pres. by The Family Dental Center.

Bag Policy: Xtream Arena will implement a clear bag policy for all ticketed events.  A clear 12” x 6” x 12” bag or smaller will be permitted as well as small clutch style purses or wallets. Patrons will be asked to return any bag that does not meet this criteria to their vehicle prior to entry. Diaper bags or medical bags are allowed to exceed that size limit, but will be searched. Small clutch style purses or wallets no larger than 4.5” x 6.5” are permitted as well.

Couple fishing trips 

The Heartlanders and Walleye are wrapping up their first series at Xtream Arena this season. The next time the teams play at Xtream Arena will be in four months, Apr. 3-6 for a three-game set. 

 

This season, the Heartlanders and Walleye play ten times, the most they’ve ever played against each other in a single season. 

 

Additionally Iowa and Toledo will not play again until Mar. 2-3 at Huntington Center following their showdown Sunday. 

 

All-time series

The Heartlanders and Walleye are meeting for the 20th time ever Sunday, 11 of which have taken place at Xtream Arena. 

 

The team to score first has won 15 of the first 19. Iowa holds three of the series’ five come-from-behind wins. Toledo’s first come-from-behind win ever against the Heartlanders happened this season, Dec. 2, at Huntington Center. 

 

Sunday’s game wraps up a stretch where the Heartlanders have played five of eight games against Toledo.

 

 

Next up
The Heartlanders are home on Thurs., Dec. 21 at 6:35 p.m. against Fort Wayne. Iowa also hosts the Komets on Fri., Dec. 22 at 6:35 p.m. and Sat., Dec. 23 at 6:05 p.m.
