Heartlanders visit Cincinnati again Wednesday

Coralville, Iowa – The Iowa Heartlanders, proud ECHL affiliate of the Minnesota Wild and Iowa Wild, prepare for their fourth game of the season at Heritage Bank Center, taking on the Cincinnati Cyclones Wednesday at 6:35 p.m.

The Heartlanders are looking to get back on track after back-to-back regulation losses vs. Wheeling last weekend. In the team’s latest game, Iowa outshot the Nailers, 29-22, but Taylor Gauthier denied 28 shots for his fourth career win vs. Iowa.

Cincinnati trended the opposite way last weekend, outscoring foes, 9-4, in back-to-back wins vs. Toledo and Kalamazoo. Sahil Panwar scored the game-winning goal at the K-Wings Jan. 20.

Both teams played nine days ago at Xtream Arena, a 5-4 come-from-behind win for Iowa in overtime.

The Heartlanders are playing their first of five straight road games Wednesday. The Heartlanders have four road trips this season that last at least five games.

Weekend to remember at Xtream

The Iowa Heartlanders drew their two largest crowds of the 2023-24 season Friday and Saturday vs. Wheeling, seeing just under 7,000 total fans at the two games.

Saturday’s crowd of just under 4,000 ranked as the team’s best in the middle of a season ever. The other four best crowds happened on either the season’s opening or final weekend.

Season Series

Last time on the road was pretty good

The Heartlanders ended the season series with Tulsa with a 1-0-1-0 record.

Indy next

The Heartlanders will face off against the Indy Fuel for the first time this season Friday, crossing off their last unique division opponent of the season. The Heartlanders will meet them for in the middle of a five-game road trip Friday and Saturday.
