Coralville, Iowa – The Iowa Heartlanders, proud ECHL affiliate of the Minnesota Wild and Iowa Wild, play their sixth straight home game Saturday at 6:05 p.m. against the Indy Fuel.

 

Saturday is Blackout Night, presented by DASH Auctions.

 

The Heartlanders have been home for two straight weeks and last played on the road Feb. 3 against Kalamazoo.

 

Iowa is home for seven straight games over this span, the team’s longest home stand of the season.

 

Indy has won six straight games, one short of matching the team’s franchise record.

Bag Policy: Xtream Arena will implement a clear bag policy for all ticketed events.  A clear 12” x 6” x 12” bag or smaller will be permitted as well as small clutch style purses or wallets. Patrons will be asked to return any bag that does not meet this criteria to their vehicle prior to entry. Diaper bags or medical bags are allowed to exceed that size limit, but will be searched. Small clutch style purses or wallets no larger than 4.5” x 6.5” are permitted as well.

Parking: Parking is available in the South Parking Lot located by the Hyatt Regency Convention Center Entrance or the North Ramp located by the Hyatt Regency main entrance. Impressive goaltending

The Heartlanders have received impressive contributions from all three of their goaltenders this season – Peyton Jones, Hunter Jones and Drew DeRidder.

 

Since Dec. 30 against Rapid City, the trio has combined to have a 2.82 goals-against average and .913 save percentage.

 

Peyton Jones had his second-best save performance ever Wednesday, making 46 saves on 48 shots.

 

Drew DeRidder has arguably been most impressive – he is 6-2-1-1 with a 2.36 goals-against average (24 GA in 610 min) and .929 save percentage (316/340) since the start of the calendar year.

 

Making the most of the remaining homestand

The Heartlanders have two games left on a season-long seven-game homestand. The team has at least a point in two of the first five games.

 

Following Saturday’s showdown with Indy, the Heartlanders continue a busy stretch Wednesday vs. Wichita to wrap up the homestand. The team then travels about 500 miles east to Cincinnati for games against the Cyclones Friday and Saturday at Heritage Bank Center.

 

Iowa is on the road for seven straight games beginning next Friday; that will mark the Heartlanders’ third and final road trip of seven games or longer this season.

 

Next up

Iowa completes a seven-game homestand vs. Wichita on Wed., Feb. 21 at 6:35 p.m. vs. Wichita, featuring $5 kids tickets for fans 18 and younger (with the purchase of an adult ticket).

 

The Heartlanders start a seven-game road trip on Fri., Feb. 23 at 6:35 p.m. vs. Cincinnati. The road trip continues on Sat., Feb. 24 at 6:35 p.m. against the Cyclones.
