Home cooking
The Heartlanders have won four straight at home, a season high. Over the four home games, Iowa has a +6 goal differential and has beaten Bloomington twice (1-0 and 4-2).
Iowa’s longest winning streak ever at home is six games, and happened in Nov. 2023. Over that span, the Heartlanders swept Kalamazoo and Utah in back-to-back weeks, the first two times the Landers have ever swept a three-game series at home.
This is the third time ever Iowa has won at least four straight at home (Feb. 2022 - 4 straight, Nov. 2023 - 6 straight).
O’Bi is back
Forward Jack O’Brien made his return from a seven-game injury absence Saturday in Bloomington.
The 21-year-old from Denver, CO contributed one goal and four assists in Iowa’s first five games. In his first two season series games vs. Bloomington, O’Brien potted three assists.
The left-handed shot produced just under a point-per-game over his last three WHL seasons with Portland.
