Coralville, Iowa – The Iowa Heartlanders (3-3-1-0, 7 points) hope to start a new winning streak against the Bloomington Bison Saturday at 6:05 p.m. on Salute to Service Night.
This is the only game of Iowa’s weekend; last Sunday, the club had a three-game win streak halted by the Tulsa Oilers, 4-2.
The Heartlanders are home next weekend for back-to-back games against the Wichita Thunder Fri., Nov. 15 and Sat., Nov. 16.

Season Series Recap
The Heartlanders have faced the Bison three times so far this season, winning two of those matchups. The games have been close, with the Heartlanders winning both of theirs by one goal, and the Bison taking theirs by two with an empty-net goal.
Iowa dropped their first game against the new team, 4-2, on Oct. 24. Scoring was back-and-forth throughout, but Danny Katic put it away for the Bison with an empty-net goal in the dying minutes of the match.
They met again on Oct. 26 with the Heartlanders beating the Bison in the shootout, 5-4. The teams combined for 75 penalty minutes; 51 of those came from one altercation in the second period. Rookie Jack O’Brien earned two points on the night.
In their most recent contest, Iowa shutout Bloomington, 1-0. Goaltender Dylan Ferguson stopped 31 shots in his season debut on Oct. 30. Will Calverley scored the only goal.
The teams face each other 12 more times this season. Five of those meetings take place this month. The Heartlanders play the Bison at home Nov. 9, Nov. 24 and Nov. 30.
Heartlanders racking up the PIM
The Heartlanders are second in the league in penalty minutes per game (20.0), with 140 combined penalty minutes through seven games played. Nico Blachman entered the week second in the ECHL wth 36 PIM.
Iowa has played two games where they have taken more than 40 penalty minutes in a night, Oct. 26 against the Bloomington Bison (42 PIM) and Nov. 2 against the Tulsa Oilers (45 PIM).
