Nico’s points

Nico Blachman helped set up Iowa’s second goal in the second period Wednesday at Cincinnati, earning a helper for his third straight game with a point. This is the second time in Blachman’s career he has points in three consecutive games (2g, 1a).

On the goal Wednesday, he outworked Cincinnati to the net front and nudged it to Jonny Sorenson. Next, Sorenson ripped it off the end wall to Yuki Miura alone at the right post.

Blachman has three goals this season, including one against Bloomington.

Yuki’s multi-goal game

Yuki Miura scored in the first and second period Wednesday against Cincinnati, giving him five goals and ten points this season. The Heartlanders captain scored a career-high 12 goals last season while serving as an alternate captain.

Miura has four career multi-goal games with the Heartlanders, one this season, one last season vs. Toledo and two in Iowa’s inaugural season vs. Toledo and Fort Wayne.
