Coralville, Iowa - The Iowa Heartlanders (12-5-3-0, 27 points) take on the Toledo Walleye (14-5-3-0, 31 points) Wednesday at 10:35 a.m. This is the second straight Wednesday the teams are playing each other in the morning.
The Heartlanders have won five straight games and Iowa went undefeated last week (3-0-0-0), starting with a 3-2 overtime win against the Walleye on Wednesday, Dec. 4.
On Friday, the Heartlanders beat the Indy Fuel, 4-3. Iowa finished the weekend with a 2-1 win in overtime against the Fuel on Saturday.

Previously against the Walleye
Iowa took the first game in the season series against Toledo, 3-2, in overtime on Wednesday, Dec. 4. T.J. Walsh scored with five minutes left in regulation to force overtime. 1:11 into the extra frame, Yuki Miura scored on a redirect in front of the net.
With that OT goal, Miura tied Zach White for the Heartlanders’ all-time points record. Miura subsequently broke the team record with an assist in Friday's win at Indy.
Last time out
Over the weekend, the Heartlanders won back-to-back meetings against the Indy Fuel in the opening weekend at the Fishers Event Center.
On Friday, Iowa scored three unanswered goals in the third to win, 4-3. Yuki Miura picked up an assist on a goal from Will Calverley to take sole possession of the Heartlanders’ all-time points record (92 points).
On Saturday, the Heartlanders swept the weekend with an overtime win, 2-1. Iowa went down early, but Connor Federkow tied it early in the second. Andrew McLean scored in the final minute of the extra frame to secure the victory.
Morning game history
The Heartlanders extended their morning game record to 4-0-0-0 all time with a win last Wednesday at Toledo.
Their first morning game was in the 2022-23 season on Dec. 14th, 2022 against the Kalamazoo Wings, a game Iowa won 5-1. In a first period where the Heartlanders outshot the wings 10-4, they opened the scoring to take the lead and never looked back.
Last year, the Heartlanders had a 3-2 victory at home against the Utah Grizzlies on Nov. 15, 2023. Despite outshooting Utah for most of the game, they were down until scoring back-to-back power-play goals to take the lead in the latter half of the game.
Earlier this year, the Heartlanders beat the Kansas City Mavericks, 5-3, on Nov. 12, 2024. Iowa put up a season-best three power-play goals and scored the first four of the matchup.
