Cincinnati, OH – The Iowa Heartlanders (13-6-3-0, 29 points) seek the start of a new winning streak at the Cincinnati Cyclones (3-15-3-0, 9 points) Tuesday at 6:35 p.m. The Heartlanders have won six of their last seven games and had a season-best six-game winning streak snapped Friday vs. Toledo.

Iowa is starting a three-game road trip and next play at home on Christmas in Coralville Night Saturday at 6:00 p.m.

In Iowa’s last game, Nico Blachman and Lincoln Erne scored in the third period, but the Walleye scored three in the second plus an empty-net goal for a 6-3 win.

The Heartlanders are second in the Central Division and Cincinnati is seventh.

Fourth line sirens

Iowa’s fourth line of Lincoln Erne – Keanan Stewart – Nico Blachman was on the ice for all three of Iowa’s goals in Friday’s game vs. Toledo.

On the first goal, the physicality of the trio left Jules Boscq wide open for the game’s opening goal. Nico Blachman scored Iowa’s next goal in the third period and Erne followed that up less than five minutes later for his first with the Landers. Stewart assisted on each of the third-period markers, giving him two assists in his Heartlanders debut.

The line is interesting for a number of reasons; Erne is playing forward for the first time in his professional career, Stewart just joined the Heartlanders and Blachman has now scored two goals in his last five games.

Jules is a jewel

Defenseman Jules Boscq scored his team-blueliner-leading third goal of the season to send the teddy bears flying Friday vs. Toledo. The 22-year-old from Bordeaux, France is third among team defenseman with nine points.

Of note, Boscq has scored the game’s first goal twice, second on the team to Ryan Miotto (who is tied for the league lead with 4 ‘first goals’).

Boscq is in his fifth professional season and first full in North America after playing four games for the Heartlanders last season.
