William Rousseau was loaned to the Heartlanders Wednesday after earning a two-week call-up to the Iowa Wild. During that time, the Wild rewarded Rousseau with a two-year AHL contract that runs through the 2025-26 season.
Rousseau ranks second overall in the league with a 2.05 goals-against average and third with a .932 save percentage. Rousseau has an 8-2-2-0 record this season and won ECHL Goaltender of the Month in December.
Kyle McClellan has won his last three starts and has a 3.01 GAA and a 0.878 sv.% for the season. McClellan has an 8-7-0-1 record.
The Heartlanders also received a big contribution from netminder Dante Giannuzzi Sunday. He won his first game with Iowa with 24 saves (1 GA) vs. Indy Sunday.
Miura shines in weekend sweep
Captain Yuki Miura ripped in the game-winning goal Sunday, continuing his hot streak after he matched a career-best with three points in Saturday’s win vs. Indy.
Miura has 42 goals, 60 assists and 102 points in his Heartlanders career, more in every category than any Iowa player ever. He is Iowa’s games played leader as well (219 GP).
The Tokyo, Japan native is third on the team with nine goals and fourth with 18 points. Additionally, he boasts a plus-10 rating, second on the squad. Miura leads the team with two short-handed goals this season and has three for his career (most of any Heartlanders player ever).
