Coralville, Iowa – The Iowa Heartlanders (22-13-4-2, 50 points) take on the Kalamazoo Wings (14-22-1-1, 30 points) for the second time this season, Friday at 7:00 p.m. at Xtream Arena.
Iowa and the Wings play three times this weekend and twice next weekend at Kalamazoo. The Heartlanders play five of their next six vs. the Wings. Kalamazoo has five straight against Iowa (Heartlanders visit Cincinnati next Wednesday).
The Heartlanders are looking to reboot after falling by two in their last game Sunday at Toledo, with a Brandon Hawkins empty-net goal sealing the deal for the Walleye. Iowa’s last two losses have been by two because of empty-net goals from opponents. Gavin Hain and Yuki Miura scored Sunday for Iowa in the 4-2 defeat.
Kalamazoo pumped Bloomington, 6-3, in their last game Sunday at home. Zack Okabe scored twice.
The Heartlanders are ranked third in the Central Division, one point back of second-place Fort Wayne. Kalamazoo is seventh in the Central Division.

The Kalamazoo Wings are seventh in the Central Division with 30 points, but are 2-1-0-1 in their last four games, their best stretch since December.
In their last ten games, the Wings have a record of 2-7-0-1, notching wins against Toledo (Jan. 18th) and Bloomington (Jan. 25).
Quinn Preston leads the Wings in points with 25 (6g, 19a) and registered a career-high five assists Sunday against the Bison. This helped earn Preston the league’s Player of the Week honors earlier this week.
This is the second meeting of the teams this season.
