Wichita, KS – The Iowa Heartlanders (15-11-3-1, 34 points) oppose the Wichita Thunder (19-11-2-0, 40 points) at INTRUST Bank Arena for the second straight day Saturday at 6:05 p.m. Iowa is four games into the season series with the Thunder and the Heartlanders hold a 2-1-0 series edge.
Iowa is looking to continue where it left off last month, their winningest December (7 wins) in team history. As the calendar has flipped to 2025, the Heartlanders have a handful of extremely important weekends, which includes a six-game homestand that runs from Jan. 10-19 at Xtream Arena.
Friday, Wichita goaltender Gabe Carriere denied a career-best 44 shots to silence Iowa, 5-0. Wichita scored three times in the first period.
The Heartlanders are third in the Central Division with 34 points. The Thunder are third in the Mountain Division with 40 points.

The Heartlanders are 6-2-1-0 on Saturdays this season, their winningest day of the season. Iowa also has a winning record on Wednesdays (4-1-0-0).
Iowa is 3-2-0-0 on road Saturday games and have only dropped in regulation at Wheeling and Bloomington.
Kyle McClellan has won three Saturday games this season and William Rousseau has won twice.
