Wichita, KS – The Iowa Heartlanders (15-10-3-1, 34 points) take on the Wichita Thunder (18-11-2-0, 38 points) for the first time on the road this season for the first game of a weekend series Friday at 7:05 p.m.
This is the third time this season that the teams have met. On Nov. 15, the Heartlanders won the first matchup of the season, 4-2. Iowa followed that up with another win, 3-2, over the Thunder the following night on Nov. 16.
The Heartlanders are third in the Central Division. The Thunder are third in the Mountain Division.

Iowa is coming off a road trip last weekend against first-place Toledo and Wheeling. The Heartlanders fell 3-1 in their final game of the season seriesagainst the Nailers.
Dakota Raabe opened the scoring in the first period with a wrister from the right circle. The Heartlanders held on to their lead through two periods.
Wheeling battled back in the third period, scoring twice in the opening half of the frame and putting it away with an empty-net goal to secure the win.
Rousseau Goaltender of Month
Iowa Heartlanders goaltender William Rousseau has been named the Warrior Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Month for December.
He is the first Heartlanders goaltender to ever win Goaltender of the Month, and the 5th player in team history to win a monthly award (Kris Bennett, Ryan Kuffner, Jake Smith, Mike Pastujov).
Rousseau went 5-0-0 with two shutouts, a 1.19 goals-against average and a save percentage of .961 in five appearances during the month.
The 21-year-old allowed two goals or less in each of his five outings while making 29 or more saves on five occasions.
