Kalamazoo, MI – The Iowa Heartlanders (30-16-4-3, 67 points) have won five straight games and start another three-game week on the road at the Kalamazoo Wings (21-26-2-1, 45 points) Friday at 6:00 p.m. Iowa has won at least five in a row for the third time this season; the Heartlanders have two six-game winning streaks this season.
Last week, Iowa went 3-0-0-0, which included two straight wins on the road to end the weekend. Sunday, the Heartlanders earned their fourth straight come-from-behind win and Yuki Miura scored in overtime to silence Toledo, 3-2.
Iowa is three games into a ten-game road trip. The team continues the road trip with games at Indy Saturday at 6:00 p.m. and Sunday at 3:00 p.m.
Kalamazoo played Wednesday vs. Adirondack and won, 4-3. The Wings are 3-0-1-0 in their last four games.
The Heartlanders are second in the Central Division. Kalamazoo is seventh in the Central Division, but only six points out of the fourth and final playoff spot.

The Heartlanders have 30 wins this season, the most they’ve had in a single season in team history. Previously, in Iowa’s inaugural season, the club earned 29 wins and 69 points. Iowa is two points back of matching the inaugural season points total.
Iowa is 14 games above .500 entering Friday, the first time in team history the Heartlanders have reached such heights.
8-win month
The Heartlanders have won eight games this month (8-3-0-0), their winningest month of the season and tied for the most wins in a single month in team history. If Iowa wins Friday, the Heartlanders will set the team record for most wins in a month.
This is the first time since Nov. 2023 (8-2-1-1) that Iowa has won eight games in a month. Prior to that, the only other time the Heartlanders won eight games was Feb. 2022 (8-3-1-0) during Iowa’s inaugural season.
Season Series
The Heartlanders split the weekend against Kalamazoo the last time these teams played Feb. 7-8 at Kalamazoo and Iowa is 3-2-0-1 in the season series against the Wings. In Iowa’s last head-to-head win, 4-1, the Heartlanders scored four unanswered goals after falling behind in the first period.
Captain Yuki Miura has a team-best four goals in the season series and is tied with Zach Dubinsky for most points (6) in games this season vs. Kalamazoo.
Six Wings have two goals against the Heartlanders; Josh Bloom and Joe Arntsen have five points to top Kalamazoo.
Both teams have 19 wins ever in the all-time series; Iowa is 19-10-6-3 against the K-Wings.
