Kalamazoo, MI – The Iowa Heartlanders (24-14-4-3, 55 points) visit the Kalamazoo Wings (16-23-1-1, 34 points) Friday at 6:00 p.m. Iowa has played three of their last four games against Kalamazoo, part of a week-plus stretch where the teams play five times.
The Heartlanders have won back-to-back games, including a 2-0 shutout victory at Cincinnati Wednesday. Matt Sop and Gavin Hain combined early to score the first and game-winning goal of the game. Kyle McClellan stopped 25 shots for his second shutout of the season. Sop was recalled to the AHL’s Iowa Wild following the win.
Kalamazoo last played on Sunday against Iowa and fell, 4-1, in the afternoon matchup after winning the previous two games of the weekend series vs. the Heartlanders.
The Heartlanders are second in the Central Division and the Kalamazoo Wings are seventh in the Central Division.
