Coralville, Iowa – The Iowa Heartlanders (31-21-6-4, 72 points) host the Fort Wayne Komets (37-19-5-0, 79 points) Saturday at 6:00 p.m. on Decades Night.
The Heartlanders are home two more times this weekend, on Saturday and Sunday, then have a week to prepare for the next home game against Wichita on Sun., Mar. 30 at 3:00 p.m.
The Heartlanders couldn’t get a tying goal Friday and fell 4-1 to the Fort Wayne Komets. Matt Sop tied the game at one late in the second, but Fort Wayne added two in the last half of the third.
Iowa is third in the Central Division. Fort Wayne is second in the Central Division.

All-time series
The Heartlanders are 10-13-2-1 all time against the Komets and have won five of those games ever at Xtream Arena.
At the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum, the Heartlanders are at .500 (5-5-0-1).
Both teams have been about even against each other every season. Iowa went 3-3-0-1 against Fort Wayne last season, 2-4-1-0 against the Komets the year before, and Iowa won the season series in the Landers’ inaugural season (5-4-0-0).
The closeness of the games has often bred contempt; the Heartlanders have had 17 fighting majors all time against Fort Wayne, Iowa’s most against any Central Division foe.
Saturday record
Saturday is Iowa’s winningest day of the season; the Heartlanders boast 10 wins on Saturdays (10-7-1-1). The Heartlanders have gone 6-1-1-1 at home on Saturdays this season.
Iowa has not hosted a Saturday game since Feb. 15, a thrilling 5-4, come-from-behind win in the shootout against division-best Toledo.
This will be Iowa’s second Saturday game against the Komets this season. Fort Wayne won the first one in overtime, 2-1, in the Landers’ second game of the season on Oct. 19.
