Coralville, Iowa - Forward Matt Hubbarde has signed an ECHL contract with the Iowa Heartlanders, Head Coach and General Manager Derek Damon announced Thursday. This is Hubbarde's first pro contract.
The Pickering, ON native skated with the University of Alaska-Fairbanks this season and led the school with 13 goals and 23 points. Both totals were personal bests in Hubbarde's four-year NCAA career.
Prior to his time at Alaska-Fairbanks, Hubbarde skated for Dartmouth (2021-23) and Providence (2023-24). For his NCAA career, the 6-foot-1, 190-lb., right-handed shot tallied 25 goals and 52 points in 95 games.

Iowa visits Bloomington Mar. 7 at 7:00 p.m. and Mar. 8. The Heartlanders are next at home for three games against Fort Wayne on Fri., Mar. 21 at 7:00 p.m., Sat., Mar. 22 at 6:00 p.m. and Sun., Mar. 23 at 3:00 p.m.
