Fishers, IN – The Iowa Heartlanders (30-16-4-4, 68 points) visit the Indy Fuel (21-23-4-3, 49 points) to kick off a busy March Saturday at 6:00 p.m.
The Heartlanders have points in six straight games (5-0-0-1). Saturday is the fourth game of Iowa’s season-long ten-game road trip. Iowa is 4-0-0-0 this season against the Fuel.
Friday at Kalamazoo, the Heartlanders faltered in the shootout, 5-4. Jonny Sorenson and Andrew McLean scored in the third period to help Iowa earn a point.
The Heartlanders are second in the Central Division, two points ahead of Fort Wayne. Indy is fifth in the Central Division and two points back of Bloomington for fourth in the Central Division.

February Recap
The Heartlanders won eight games in February (8-3-0-1), their winningest month of the season and tied for the most wins in a single month in team history.
This is the first time since Nov. 2023 (8-2-1-1) that Iowa has won eight games in a month. Prior to that, the only other time the Heartlanders won eight games was Feb. 2022 (8-3-1-0) during Iowa’s inaugural season.
Ryan Miotto scored 13 points in February to lead the team.
Mileage Update
The Heartlanders are three games into a ten-game road trip and have traveled approximately 1700 miles over the last two weeks. After starting the road trip at Cincinnati and Toledo last week, the club ventured to Kalamazoo Friday before Saturday’s game at Indy.
Next up, the Heartlanders venture to Bloomington, adding another couple hundred miles onto the road trip.
In total, when the club finishes the ten-game stretch at Rapid City Mar. 13-15, the Heartlanders will have ventured approximately 3900 miles, just short of the distance from Coralville to London.
By comparison, over season-opening Indy’s 15-game road trip, the Fuel traveled approximately 7,700 miles, just short of the distance from Coralville to New Zealand.
