The Sundays are plentiful
The Heartlanders finish the ECHL regular season with four straight Sunday games and a trio of three-in-threes. Sunday kicks off this stretch, with Iowa opposing Fort Wayne for the third straight day.
Next week is the rare “light” one for the Heartlanders; for the first time all season, Iowa has Friday and Saturday off before returning to home ice Sunday vs. Wichita.
After that, Iowa plays seven games in April to conclude the regular season, including back-to-back Sundays against Norfolk and Kalamazoo.
Home and home only
The Heartlanders are playing Fort Wayne for the fifth and final time this season Saturday and all have been home games. This season is the first ever that the Heartlanders do not visit the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum during the regular season.
Interestingly, this year’s Iowa-Fort Wayne season series is the only time the Heartlanders do not visit a division opponent during the regular season.
