Rapid City, SD – The Iowa Heartlanders (31-18-5-4, 71 points) open the week with a showdown at the Rapid City Rush (24-24-6-3, 57 points) Thursday at 8:00 p.m. The Heartlanders play three straight at Rapid City to conclude a season-long ten-game road trip.
Iowa is 3-2-1-1 over the road trip and last weekend picked up a point Friday in an overtime loss to the Bloomington Bison. The Heartlanders last played Saturday and scored the first two goals, but Bloomington received the last four power-play opportunities of the game, scored on two of them and came from behind for a 5-4 win.
The Heartlanders have four road games remaining this season and are home for four straight weekends after this week’s set.
Rapid City pulled off one of their most-remarkable wins of the season Sunday at Tahoe, overcoming a 3-0 third-period deficit to win in overtime, 5-4. The Rush have won 12 of their last 15 games.
The Heartlanders are third in the Central Division, two points back of Fort Wayne. The Rush are sixth in the Central Division.

Keltie Mania Hits The Heartland
Former Rush forward Keltie Jeri-Leon has 11 points in 12 games with the Heartlanders increasing his total to ten goals and 21 points in 50 games. Acquired from Savannah in February, Jeri-Leon has contributed three straight multi-point games (1g, 5a).
A fourth-year forward, the West Kelowna, BC native skated for Rapid City last season and potted seven goals and 14 points in 28 games before being dealt to Savannah.
Of note, Jeri-Leon was a notorious “deer hunter” before the Heartlanders acquired him. Last season, Jeri-Leon scored three goals and four points in five games against Iowa. The season before with Wheeling, the right-handed shot had two multi-goal games in three contests vs. the Landers.
