Coralville, Iowa – The Iowa Heartlanders (34-24-7-4, 79 points) start a huge promotional weekend Friday at 7:00 p.m. against the Cincinnati Cyclones (28-32-10-0, 66 points). Friday is the second of three games against Cincinnati this week.
The Heartlanders have had some major happenings the last few days; the team has OFFICIALLY SOLD OUT Fan Appreciation Night Saturday, pres. by United Iowa Financial. Additionally, the team’s first round schedule is now set against the Fort Wayne Komets, which begins at Fort Wayne Apr. 18-19 with Game 1 and Game 2 of the Central Division Semifinals.

On Wednesday, Will Calverley and Matt Sop both scored on the power play to give Iowa a 2-0 lead, but the Cyclones rattled off four straight goals to secure a 4-2 win. William Rousseau made 30 saves in his return from the Iowa Wild.
The Heartlanders are third in the Central Division with 79 points and the Cyclones have 66 points, tied for fifth in the Central Division with Bloomington and Kalamazoo.

Season Series
The Heartlanders have won three of the first seven games against the Cyclones this season. Two of Iowa’s three wins have been in overtime.
Iowa dropped the first game to Cincinnati on the road on Dec. 17, 4-1. The following night, Iowa rallied to win, 3-2, with an overtime goal from Jules Boscq. In their next meeting, on Jan. 24, Iowa fell, 3-1, on the road to the Cyclones.
On Feb. 5, Iowa shut out Cincinnati, 2-0, with goals from Matt Sop and Will Zmolek. Iowa beat the Cyclones in overtime, 4-3, with a goal from Kyle Masters.
Yuki Miura leads the Heartlanders for most goals in the season series with three goals in six games played. Ryan Miotto and T.J. Walsh each have five points.
Cincinnati’s Chas Sharpe has eight points (3g) to lead the ‘Clones.
City of Coralville formally recognizes Heartlanders for making playoffs
The City of Coralville formally recognized the 2024-25 Iowa Heartlanders for making the 2025 Kelly Cup Playoffs Tuesday, Apr. 8 at the Coralville City Council Meeting. Head Coach Derek Damon, Heartlanders captain Yuki Miura and Heartlanders fans were in attendance as the city to celebrate our first-ever playoff berth!
