The Best Home Games At Xtream Arena in 2024-25

The 2024-25 season was our best in team history, culiminating in our first-ever appearance in the Kelly Cup Playoffs! While we are looking forward to next fall and the start of the 2025-26 season in October, here are some of our favorite home games from our best season ever!

Open Season vs. Fort Wayne

The Heartlanders opened the season with a weekend series against the Fort Wayne Komets. The Oct. 19th game featured a Pregame Tailgate featuring local food & drink vendors, plus a meet the team event with players signing autographs and a Light up Rally Towel Giveaway. In the game, the Heartlanders tied it late to earn a critical point against Fort Wayne.


 

Crispy Bacon Night vs. Bloomington

In one of the most-unique theme nights of the season, the Heartlanders bested the Bloomington Bison on Crispy Bacon Night. It was Iowa's highest-attended November game ever and featured specialty bacon-themed jerseys, a bacon thunderstick giveaway and a pregame party hosted at the Hyatt Regency, as well as specialty concessions, in-game bacon activities, and pork eating contests throughout the evening. 

 

Dash's Birthday vs. Indy

Dash’s Birthday this year was Iowa’s fifth-highest attended January game of all time as fans came out to celebrate the ECHL’s best mascot Dash. The game also had birthday celebrations and all of Dash’s mascot friends to celebrate.

Wild, Wild Midwest Night vs. Tahoe

The Heartlanders hosted the Tahoe Knight Monsters for Wild, Wild Midwest Night, a country-themed night featuring country music and intermission games as well as a line dancing competition, cowboy/cowgirl dress contest, and special concessions for the Heartlanders all-time highest attended January game. Before the game, Iowa hosted a pregame party at the Hyatt Regency, featuring live music by the Mill Creek Band, a mechanical bull, and more country fun!

Stick It To Cancer Night vs. Toledo

The Heartlanders made it a lavender-out on Stick it to Cancer Night, which featured special Stick it to Cancer jerseys, special videos, moments of silence and exclusive merchandise. Iowa’s largest February crowd in team history came out in support to fight for a cure.


Fan Appreciation Night vs. Cincinnati

This was Iowa’s second sold out game ever and the highest-attended game of the season. The Heartlanders took on the Cincinnati Cyclones on Fan Appreciation Night. Before the game, we hosted a pregame tailgate outside Xtream Arena, featuring local food & drink vendors, plus a meet the team event with players signing autographs. 




 

Double OT Winner vs. Fort Wayne: Game 4 Central Division Semifinals

In Game 4 of the Central Division Semifinals, the Iowa Heartlanders won a thriller in double overtime, 3-2, in front of Iowa’s largest playoff crowd ever. Zeteny Hadobas provided the electricity with the double overtime goal!
