Mobley and Hubbarde Extend with the Heartlanders

Coralville, Iowa – The Iowa Heartlanders, proud ECHL affiliate of the Minnesota Wild and Iowa Wild, announced that rookie forwards Luke Mobley and Matt Hubbarde have come to terms on ECHL contracts with Iowa for the 2025-26 season.

2025-26 Heartlanders Roster

Forwards (7): Yuki Miura, Ryan Miotto, Jonny Sorenson, Jack O’Brien, Keltie Jeri-Leon, Matt Hubbarde, Luke Mobley

Mobley joined the Heartlanders at the tail end of the 2024-25 season, recording two assists in 11 regular season games, then posted a near point-per-game run in the playoffs with four points (1g) in five games. He spent five seasons playing in the NCAA prior to joining Iowa. Mobley first skated for Clarkson University, where he totaled 22 points in 91 games before transferring to Augustana University. At Augustana, Mobley quickly found his groove, totaling 39 points (25g) in 68 games, leading the team in goals in each of his two seasons. He stands 6-foot-3 and weighs 216 pounds.

Hubbarde signed with Iowa in March 2025 after completing his collegiate career, and he put up six points (3g) in 13 games. The Pickering, ON native spent two seasons with Dartmouth, then joined Providence, totaling 29 points in 65 games between the two schools. Finally, he spent his final college season with the University of Alaska-Fairbanks, where he became the team’s leading goal and point scorer with 23 points (13g) in 30 games. Hubbarde is 6-foot-1 and 190 pounds.

Head Coach and General Manager Chuck Weber: “It was great Matt got his feet wet in pro hockey at the end of his last season with us. We are hoping for him to do big things for us using and speed and creativity on the ice. Luke is a big power forward that has a very high ceiling. We look forward to him using his frame and speed to make an impact.”
