Records after the calendar flips

The Heartlanders have posted the following records once the calendar flips in January thru the end of regular season. Iowa has always hovered or been above .500 over the first four seasons of team history in the “second half” of the year.

Jan. 1- end of regular season records:

Inaugural season 2021-22: 20-18-6-0

2022-23: 16-22-7-0

2023-24: 18-22-2-1

2024-25: 21-15-4-3

Longest road trips in team history

The Heartlanders are in the third game of a season-long six-game road trip. The trip is tied for the team’s longest of the campaign and was originally scheduled to be an eight-game road trip.

Iowa’s two longest “roadies” ever were each ten games; one happened in 2023-24 and the other in 2024-25. In last season’s ten-gamer (Feb. 21 - Mar. 15), the Heartlanders earned at least a point in six of the ten games, going 3-4-2-1. Iowa started that trip with a 3-1-0-1 record, which included key divisional wins at Cincinnati, Toledo and Indy to help solidify a playoff spot for the Heartlanders.

In 2023-24, the Heartlanders travelled to Kalamazoo, Fort Wayne, Wheeling, Cincinnati and Toledo, earning a 4-4-1-1 mark. Similarly to last season’s long trip, Iowa started hot with a 2-0-0-1 mark in the first three games.

On this season’s eight-game road trip, the Heartlanders take on Bloomington, Kansas City, Tulsa, Toledo and Kalamazoo.

Mileage on road trip

On the current six-game road trip, the Heartlanders will travel approximately 2,100 miles on the bus over the next two weeks. The longest stretch of the road trip is happening this week with Iowa visiting Kansas City and Tulsa.
