Coralville, Iowa – The Iowa Heartlanders (14-28-2-2, 32 pts.) complete the weekend against the Kalamazoo Wings 

(19-19-3-3, 44 pts.) on ARTLanders, pres. by iHeartMedia, Saturday at 6:00 p.m. The Heartlanders are completing a nine-game season series with Kalamazoo.

Iowa is seeking back-to-back wins after wiping away the Wings, 5-2. Jonny Sorenson tallied twice in the third period for his first multi-goal game of the season. Riley Mercer blocked 24 saves in the win. Elliot Desnoyers registered three assists for the second time this season. Nolan Walker and Josh Bloom scored for the Wings.

Iowa has two wins and points in three games (2-5-1) this season series, but four of their losses have been decided by a goal.

Jaxon Nelson leads Iowa with four goals and seven points vs. the Wings. Rasmus Kumpulainen’s first career multi-goal game came vs. Kalamazoo on Jan. 11 at Wings Event Center.

Ryan Cox is best in the series with six goals. He has scored six of his ten goals this season vs. Iowa. 

Andre Ghantous leads all players with three game-winning goals in the season series. He and Zach Okabe each have five game winners this season, accounting for more than half of the Wings winning goals.
