Coralville, Iowa – The Iowa Heartlanders (18-28-3-2, 41 pts.) have points in six straight games and start a six-game road trip at the Indy Fuel (23-17-8-1, 55 pts.) Friday at 6:00 p.m. Iowa and Indy match up for back-to-back games this weekend, Iowa’s final two games at the Fishers Event Center this season.
The Heartlanders and Indy have played twice already in February. Iowa is 1-1-0-0 against the Fuel this month and Indy owns a 3-1-0 season series edge.
Wednesday at Xtream Arena, the Heartlanders scored in every period, took a 3-0 lead in the second, and bested Bloomington, 5-3. Riley Mercer moved to 6-0-1-0 in his last seven appearances with 30 saves. Elliot Desnoyers scored twice in the third, including the game-clinching empty-net goal, and was recalled from loan Thursday by the Iowa Wild. Matt Sop scored his team-leading 15th of the season.
Indy is coming off a dominant 6-2 win over Kalamazoo in their morning game at Fishers Event Center Tuesday. The Fuel are on a four-game points streak (2-0-2-0).
The Heartlanders visit Indy again Saturday at 6:00 p.m. and wrap up a three-in-three at Toledo Sunday at 4:15 p.m.
Iowa is next at home for Luck of the Landers against Kansas City on Wed., Mar. 18 at 7:00 p.m.

The winning team has only scored four or more in a game once, the season series opener Dec. 17 (4-2 Indy win).
The Fuel have earned three come-from-behind wins against Iowa this season, though Iowa stymied the streak with 3-1 win at the Fishers Event Center Feb. 7 in the last series meeting.
Jonny Sorenson has one short-handed goal in the series and leads Iowa with four points (1g) in head-to-head games. Matt Sop and Keltie Jeri-Leon each have two goals.
Indy’s Matt Petgrave tops all players with five points (1g) and Brett Moravec has tallied three goals this season against Iowa.
All four goalies that have played in the series have acquitted themselves nicely with sub-2.6 goals-against averages. Riley Mercer and William Rousseau have combined to allow nine goals in four games against Indy. Mercer is 1-2-0-0 with a 2.38 GAA and .919 sv. %. Mitchell Weeks owns a 2-0-0-0 record with a 1.89 GAA and .922 sv. %.
