Derek Damon Hockey Academy

The Iowa Heartlanders are excited to offer the following youth hockey camps throughout the course of the summer presented by the Derek Damon Hockey Academy and the Rink at Coral Ridge.

Each participant receives lunch every day and a Derek Damon Hockey Academy jersey for the camp

The focus of these camps is to continue to develop foundational hockey skills with Head Coach Derek Damon and other members of the Heartlanders hockey operations staff.  

These camps are designed for participants with varying levels of hockey experience with the main focus on continuing to develop fundamental hockey skills.  

Each participant must have their own full set of equipment and will not be permitted to participate without. Please use the form below to register. Registration is open on a first come first serve basis and will close at 30 participants. If you have multiple children that would like to participate, please fill out a separate form for each participant. 

IOWA HEARTLANDERS YOUTH HOCKEY CAMP – JUNE  

June 17th – 20th  

PRACTICES WILL BE HELD MONDAY-THURSDAY AT THE RINK AT CORAL RIDGE. SEE BELOW FOR TIMING AND FORMAT OF THE CAMP.  

Group 1 Schedule (9:00 AM - 1:00 PM)

8:45 AM: Arrive

9:00 AM - 10:00 AM: On Ice

10:00 AM - 11:00 AM: Dry Land Workouts 

11:00 AM - 12:00 PM: Lunch (Provided) + Chalk Talk

12:00 PM - 1:00 PM: On Ice

 

Group 2 Schedule (10:00 AM - 2:00 PM)

9:45 AM: Arrive

10:00 AM - 11:00 AM: On Ice

11:00 AM - 12:00 PM: Dry Land Workouts 

12:00 PM - 1:00 PM: Lunch (Provided) + Chalk Talk

1:00 PM - 2:00 PM: On Ice

 

IOWA HEARTLANDERS YOUTH HOCKEY CAMP – AUGUST  

PRACTICES WILL BE HELD EACH MONDAY AND THURSDAY IN AUGUST AT THE RINK AT CORALRIDGE. SEE BELOW FOR SPECIFIC PRACTICE TIMES BASED ON PARTICIPANT AGE.  

Mondays (5th, 12th, 19st, and 26th) and Thursdays (1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd, and 29th)  

5:45 – 6:45pm 

Learn To Play

The Iowa Heartlanders are proud to partner with Scheels and The Rink at Coral Ridge to bring you Learn to Play. Learn to Play hockey is an eight week long instructional program that provides kids who have never played hockey a chance to learn to play. All gear and equipment needed to participate in this program is provided courtesy of Scheels, The Rink, and the Iowa Heartlanders and at the conclusion of the program, participants will get to keep their equipment. 

The Learn to Play program is geared towards participants ages 6-12 who have never played hockey and are interested in starting. Each session will have a total of 20 participants and registration will be on a first come first serve basis with a waitlist once registration is full.

Try Hockey For Free

Try Hockey for Free presented by LeafGuard  is designed to provide kids the opportunity to try hockey in a FUN, safe environment with trained coaching staff. 

No experience necessary! There will be plenty of assistance on hand to be sure your child has the best first hockey experience and answer any questions you might have. To learn more about Try Hockey for Free visit USA Hockey's website

The Iowa Heartlanders have partnered with The Rink at Coralridge to bring you a number of different Try Hockey for Free sessions.

Adult Learn to Play

The Iowa Heartlanders are proud to partner with The Rink at Coral Ridge to bring you the first ever Heartlanders Adult Learn to Play. The Adult Learn to Play program is an eight week long instructional program that provides adults who have never played hockey a chance to learn foundational skills. Participants will be required for providing their own gear and will not be ermitted to participate without a full set of equipment. 

The Adult Learn to Play program is geared towards participants over 18 who have never played hockey or have beginer level skills and are intersted in starting. Each participant must have their own full set of equipment and will not be permitted to participate without (skates will be provided to those participants who do not have their own). Registration will be open to a total of 20 participants and will be on a first come first serve basis with a waitlist once registration is full.
